Medical Terminology for Coders

Course Objectives
During this workshop, you will learn about knowledge of human anatomy essential to successful coding. Also the ability to understand medical terminology used to describe and document medical procedures and services:
- Language of Medicine
- Word elements such as combining forms, prefixes, and suffixes.
- Understand procedural and diagnostic terms
- Understand anatomy related to medical coding
This JMCI workshop finalizes with an anatomy and terminology review. This is a great introductory workshop or refresher for experienced coders.
All attendees who plan to take any national certification exam offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) are strongly encouraged to use the current year CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding books.
