Course Objectives
During this workshop, you will learn about the basic concepts to ICD-10-CM coding and covers the current year ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines. This is a great refresher for experienced coders and/or billers:
- Overview of the ICD-10-CM layout
- Review ICD-10-CM conventions
- Review the Official ICD-10-CM coding guidelines
- Recognize main terms to start the code search
- Follow proper look up sequences to select diagnosis code
This JMCI workshop finalizes with an anatomy and terminology review. This is a great introductory workshop or refresher for experienced coders.
All attendees who plan to take any national certification exam offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) are strongly encouraged to use the current year CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding books.
